Radiograph and Exam Policy

Due to legal requirements set forth by the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners, we must adhere to the expected standard of care which includes a minimum of:

***(1) Full Mouth Series of X-rays every 5 years

AND

Bite-Wing X-rays & Periapical X-rays once a year***

This allows the attending doctor the opportunity to perform a sufficient exam that is required to administer treatment, even if it is simply a cleaning.

Unless extenuating circumstances exist in which the attending doctor may waive this requirement, we, as a licensed office operating under the statutes of the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners, we will not provide care unless this requirement is met.

Please understand that this policy is in place to best assure that we meet your oral health needs.

Without proper examination and x-rays, it is not possible to assure that our patients are free of decay, infection, gum disease or oral cancer.
